Farmers’ Guide to Inflation Reduction Act 2022 (IRA) – September 15, 2022

On August 16, 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) became law. A new FLAG publication highlights the aspects of this legislation that will impact farmers. This Farmers’ Guide to the IRA looks most closely at three different parts of the IRA. First, it looks at what the IRA calls “relief for borrowers.” Second, it looks at what the IRA calls “Discrimination Financial Assistance.” Third, it looks at changes the IRA makes to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This Guide is a collaborative effort between FLAG and Rural Coalition, with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The Guide was also written in collaboration with Land Loss Prevention Project, the Intertribal Agriculture Council (IAC), and others. This Farmers’ Guide to the IRA is current as of September 13, 2022. In the upcoming weeks and months the Guide will be updated. This Guide, and any update to it, is available at www.flaginc.org.
