FLAG has published a second edition of the Farmers’ Guide to the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP). ECP is a USDA conservation-related disaster program run by the Farm Service Agency (FSA) with assistance from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Through ECP, farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural producers can rehabilitate farmland and related infrastructure that is newly damaged by natural disasters; and conserve water for livestock, vineyards, and orchards in a drought emergency. This Guide provides an overview of the Program. The Post-Disaster Tips subsection describes seven best practices, particularly in the weeks immediately after a disaster and at the outset of the application process.
Farmers, farm advocates, farm attorneys, and others are welcome to consult, download, print, or share the Guide for free.
